CONTAGION: Bit By The Blues Bug

My story on CBS Bay Area - The Sequel

Two years ago, Devin Fehely - prime time news anchor at CBS Bay Area - produced an award-winning segment on my musical journey. I'm deeply honored that Devin decided to follow up on that story and deliver a wonderful sequel that focuses on the impact of my immigrant journey on the local blues scene, especially on some of the young Indian talent it has attracted in recent months.

Many of you caught this segment when it aired live on a few days ago. If you missed it, you can watch it below.

Side-note: Much of my music-making ability is owed to the rich and thriving blues jam scene that the SF Bay Area has nurtured for decades. In my early days as a musician, I honed my band-leading, harmonica and vocals chops night after night by sitting in at several of the jams in the South Bay. Even in very recent years, I've utilized these jams to build up my skills and confidence as a drummer

I, too, have hosted a weekly blues jam (sometimes two!) in the South Bay for 15 years running, including THIS ONE at Narrative Fermentations, in San Jose, which I host every Sunday at 4pm.  If you'd like to enjoy a beer, a bite to eat and the company of local blues musicians, dancers and fans, please do stop by.
